Anyone know where to buy florida flag fish. Is it expensive? Suitable for my 3 feet tank? How many should I buy? 3 enough?

There is no such thing as a Singapore flag fish.... there are guppies and mollies in the longkangs, which were introduced from their native Americas. They make good surface skimmers.

I had a pair and let me warn you - they are happy to nib on hairgrass. Especially the new leaves

I removed the pair, but the night before I gave them away they spawned and now I got 3 baby FFF swimming happily in a 6 foot tank. Good luck to me to try to catch them, ahah!

    Hi niko!

Are flagfish peaceful? Are they good at algae removal? If yes, what algae do they remove? Thanks!

    Cheers!

What I know they love to eat hair algae. Better than SAE. SAE only eat baby hair alage.

FFF are known to eat algae. They are also known to eat plants once the algae supply runs out. Do read the past threads on this fish as it has been discussed before.

    Regards.
    Cheers!!

These have been popular here in the USA for a number of years.

They are okay, hairgrass, fuzzy furry things, these are no good. Females are less agressive but this is up to the individual fish.

    I like Rosey barbs more.
But these are right outside so it's difficult not to use them when you live in Florida.

I only keep native fish/critters except for Amano shrimps.

    Kadios,

I don't know if the FFF are aggresive or not. I had them by themselves in a 55 gal. tank. What I noticed was that the male was constanlty restless - chased the female and ran around the tank as if he was hyper. She did not seem to mind his behaviour. At night they'd sleep close to the bottom, usually under some dense plants.

I've seen them eat hairalgae. I cannot say anything more specific because I did not have much algae in that tank. I bet they were eating everything they could because for the 2 months that I had them I never fed them anything and they were as active and healthy as they could be. After removing them I saw small some increase of spot algae in the tank, but that was it.
