    Hi all
From the past questions posted, I knew that snails can be controlled by introducing ram into the tank. But is it true that snails can also be controlled by introducing puffer fish? Those that is selling at around $2 each. That is what I heard from a LPS.
    Thks.

Try a search for the info in the Planted Tanks forum. Lots of discussion on this already. Keywords like "puffer", "snails" etc will find you some answers and alternatives.

Puffer are very effective. One will eradicate the snails quite quickly. However, once they run out of snails to eat, they will turn to nipping other fishes tails and many forumers find that they will not eat processed fish food and only eat things like frozen bloodworms.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Yes, puffer are effective, vinz mine doesn't even eat dried bloodworm. I'm trying to catch it and place it in another tank by itself. That tiny guy can be a terror. Never know that they can swim VERY fast and hide well too!

IMO, puffer is the most effective snail population controller. If you have a large tank, a single puffer would be ok. Smaller tanks, puffer should be avoided.

Side note: If you don't mind the sight of snails, just let them be. They are really harmless. Actually, they might even help with waste control e.i. eating dead matters and certain algae.
    Cheers!!
