Bought this pair of welhemi about few weeks ago. When first released into the tank, the female was the aggressive one, chasing every single fish in the tank. But about a week ago, she start to become black in colour, as in as if a charcoal swimming in the water. So far, she is still eating but occasionally she got chased by the male one. Should I take her out and put her in isloation tank? Thanks!

Wayne, could you provide us some picture?
For the meanwhile, you could try some internal bacteria treatment.

Hi there, i would love to show some picture but i could rarely see her. I can describe her colour as those unstable Indo tigers. Will try out the internal bacteria treatment. Any specific brand to look out for?

Turning completely black seems somewhat out of character for abacaxis females. Perhaps as a precaution you can get a bottle of Octozin and doze her tank. Apart from that, may I suggest Easylife Neo? It seems to make fish more comfortable. Kinda like miracle water.

Female colour is slowly turning back to normal. Caught it doing the mating tail flap with the male yesterday. Will continue to monitor the female meanwhile. Thanks for the valuable informations !

    Re: Advice please!

Hi guys, the fenale is now in breeding colour. She is biting every single corydoras that come near her upturn vase. But I am not sure whether she spawned already or not. If yes, how many days for me to spot any fries. Beside that, any special care or food require for the fries? Thank again in advance for your advice.

If they really spawned you will be able to see free swimming fries at the 4th day or 5th day... You can try to feed them bbs or daphnia...
