    Hi Member,

Seriously, is brown discus really out of fashion? Hardly see any thread talking about this breed. If this is true then it is really sad. they are are the most basic and "original" type when I start keeping discus..

While I prefer the vibrant turqoise/leopard/red map/melon strains of t
compared to brown, I do have 2 brown discus in my tank.

I think you can still find brown discus from fellow forumers or lfs.

The original brown aka alencer is very difficult to find nowadays. But you can see a lot of strains that carries brown ancestors blood.

    Hi,

this is Heiko Bleher and I can guarantee you: Brown Discus are NOT OUT, very popular in Europe and America, maybe not so much in Asian countries anymore - except Japan.

In the latter, as well as in European countries they have, even recently been the great, or grand Champions at international Discus Championships.

So do not believe it, if someone tell you this.

    Best regards from a collector

It is hard to find in Singapore. Interestingly the first known albino discus were the albino brown/alenquer discus and I think that is even harder to find since 'albinism' technology in the discus 'industry' had long but moved on to other more fanciful strains.
