    just curious, since they dont have eyelids ...

    do they switch off totally or they still see things moving ard all the time?
    If they can see things all the time how can they sleep in peace?

    think they dont really 'sleep' just that their metabolic rate drops alot....

    the only fishes that i know have eyelids are sharks.. they do BLINK!!!!! it is also to protect their eyes when they feed..

    i put masks over my fish's eyes when they sleep

    Fish do not 'sleep', they just rest for extended periods of time.
    And as for "do they see" - i would say they do, do an extent, some do more than others..ie catfish.
