Yeap.
Some like to mix it in a cup of water beforehand and pour it into the tank, but I've been dumping powders direct into tanks for 5 years.

Mine's a standard 2ft 60L tank so I'm pretty sure that's around your tank's size.
What dry ferts do you have? Are you trying to follow the Estimative Index?
Erm bro, those powders don't come as just "calcium" or "potassium". Need the full names to be able to advice you.
eg. potassium sulphate, nitrate or phosphate?
Try Aquatic Plant Central's Fertilator: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...fertilator.php
You need an account with APC to see the page.
Dry dosing is difficult and prone to human error. For start, I recommend pre-mix solution before you try direct dry dose (ddd). just my personal experience

Actually.. Planted tank need very little Fe.
Frankly, micro-nutrient fertilizer works for me. all in one. boron, magnesium, Fe and etc. For this reason, they are call T.E -------> Trace elements.

Based on your tank volume, you're most likely overdosing.
From my not too accurate calculations, Ferrous Gluconate give 1.25ppm of Fe per gram dissolved in 100L of water. Assuming you change 50% of your tank water per week, you'll end up with almost 5.7ppm in the water, more if your water change is less than 50%. Thats far too much.
Try to aim for 0.2-0.5ppm. Means you need only dose 0.2g per 100L which in your case, 0.11g per week. You can dissolve 11g in 100ml of water and dose 10ml per week. This is assuming you're changing 50% water each week. If you change less, you can afford to dose less.
Remember never to mix Ferrous Gluconate with any phosphates or they may react to form iron II phosphate and precipitate out of solution.
If my calculations are wrong, please correct me.
By the way, how much did you get the Ferrous Gluconate for? I may wanna get some too if there's decent savings to be had
Locally. Shipping it in from the states sounds expensive
Yes is Exp n + freight charges haha big hole
You can get from http://www.singaporehydroponics.com/
Visit the site, I think they have retail shop at Crawford Lane, used to have one in Bedok also but it is no listed on the site now (or maybe I missed it).
