Re: When will a Full Red Albino Male Guppy show "full red"?
Hi,
There are several probabilities to your question.
Based on my past observation, it sometimes takes more than 4.5 mths for a juvenile guppy to fully display the color of its parents, if that's the case, you will have to be patient & wait a bit more. If it still doesn't show, it's either the full red male you got isn't the father of the fry (female perhaps prehit before) or there's a missing trait for a full red to show, meaning that either parents lack the "red belly" trait, so the fry will never show it. From what I know, the red belly trait is recessive, so either you backcross the full red male with the fry or you use an unrelated full red strain to cross with your current strain. This will increase your chances of obtaining full red guppies.
