I pick a piece of wood and put inside my tank. Look nice but after 2 days, the wood release small quantities of white like gel stuff at the surface.
    What is this?
Is it safe to the plants and fish?
Will it cause the water quality to degrade?

    Advice pls. [:]

think the wood wasn't treated, but it will be ok.. just siphon it out during your water change

I have the same problem too! White gel like stuff that cannot be picked up using tweezers because they are too soft and slimy... it was on my wood that is covered by moss... dunno what caused the gel, moss or wood.

Think is tree sap, it was worse when i get home yesterday and see more of "it". Feel very uneasy. Anyway i have removed the wood just to be safe.

    Thks

White gel? Does it have small white dots on it? If yes, it could be snail eggs

James, since you have already remove the wood, why dont you soak in hotwater?

James, if you can't soak the whole thing, at least soak part of it in just hot water for 10 to 15 mins, then turn it around and soak the other part.

If even that is not possible. Put it in the tub or bathroom floor and then poor hot water over it slowly.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.
