What is the best media and filteration for planted tank.

Hi.

It all depends on your available budget. But from my personal experience with Gex, normal garden soil, JBL base fert with Lapis and ADA,
I think I can safely and confidently conclude that ADA is one of the best. I have personally witness and observe with my own eyes how the ADA substrate system revive dying and yellowish hair grass.

So as much as I want to recommend to you the ADA system, a lot depends on your available budget actually.

There is no best media and filtration. Depends largely on your budget as altum said. Filter media, u can choose biohomme, or ehiem filter medias. For substrate, i would recommand ada aquasoil, but these are pretty expensive. good investment that can last two years. not much maintaining to do as well, juz surface vacumming.
