    bluezing,
I'm guessing you're new to planted tank so I would say either go for something easier like TMG or Flourish and forego Lushgro-Aqua for now. Understand proper fert/nutrient composition and only then you attempt something more complex ferts from Dr. Mallick.

I'm personally using TMG and I find very good in the sense it's an 'all-in-one' fert. I espeacially like the easy pour spout bottle making very easy to measure the dossage.

Do compare the price and decide yourself which fert to use.
    Cheers!!

ah yes...abt 2 mths old to planted.haha...i was also tinking...should i even add in liquid fert in 1st place.cos my philosophy has always been "if it aint broke, dun fix it".currently there are 2 product brand in market i favour.one is seachem and the other is easy life.im using easylife fluid filter medium.its very gd.strongly recommended.just realise also that they have launched a liquid fert as well.

    http://www.easylife.nl/english/index.html?id=40

the above is the link.hope it works.most prob i will get easylife's.cos i got special lobang(for other brands also have). maybe i will try it and post the efficiency to u guys next time.

    btw...have a question to ask...when adding liquid fert,do i have to off the filter?im using a OHF.[:]

Flourish is more economical but IMO less newbie-friendly. E.g. the recommended dosage is way too low for high light tanks (> 4W/Gal).

Theo2001, the recommended dosages are meant for low light tanks with no CO2 injection. With moderate to high light tanks, the dosage you need should be 2-3X of the recommended dosage instead. Still economical? I don't think so...it burns holes in pockets.

If you want something economical, can give Dr Mallick's Lushgro-Aqua a try. He told me he spent 7 years in research to come up with this formulation.

I'm a bit kiasu then - I'm dosing 4-5x the recommended dosage for my tank at the moment. []

Why do you think switching off filter (any type) is required when adding liquid fertilizer? Most of us fertilize once/twice per week. The nutrients are supposed to be utilized by the plants when they photosynthesize during lights on hours for the next few days. Doesn't make too much sense that the filter needs to be off for the fertilizer to remain usable to the plants, does it?

If there is anything you need to worry about using a OHF, it's the possibility of CO2 loss. Read up past posts for this subject.

Btw, I hope you don't have any activated carbon in your filter.

Sangms will be happy . What other products you got from him ? I am also thinking of getting Plantgro from Easylife if he has the stock.
