Anyone know where to get limewood airstone? I bought the wrong diffuser (those glass type that needs alot of pressure to able to diffuse co2).. i visited the LFS around chong pang (yishun area) but they don't sell those limewood airstone..

Anyone have other suggestions to replace limewood airstone? thanks in advanced

I'm using an ANS nano diffuser with my single 2L bottle for my 2x1x1 feet tank . It works fine as long as as there are no leaks in the system.

u can try using disposable chopstick as a diffuser. break it to desire length and soak it with some water conditioner for just in case.

Hi, thanks for replying bro.. i got the same as yours.. My bubble counter have bubble coming out from the 2x1.5L Coke bottle but that only happened when i give it a shake.. When i connect the pipe from check valve to the glass diffuser and place it into the tank, the water went into the diffuser.. i not sure if that's suppose to be the way.. first time trying though..

hi bro.. that's what i'm doing now haha.. i read that from the other forum but they recommend not to do that because later something (forgot what that thing is haha) will grow on the chopstick..

**The problem now is i got bubble in the bubble counter (went to buy the real thing from the shop to replace the one i DIY-ed).. there is bubble coming out from the DIY c02 bottle but don't know why nothing is coming out from the airpipe..

My DIY setup: 2x1.5L coke > bubble counter > check valve > pipe into tank with a chopstick as diffuser (for the time being)..

My DIY C02 is finally working, after many times of try and error.. but the problem now is, too much of bubble coming out from the diffuser.. is this suppose to be normal? will it harm my fish and red cherry shrimp?

The bubble counter shows 1-2 big bubble per second..

    hi wingless

Surprised to see you managed to get the diffuser to work I being using DIY co2 for quite some time without fail...(using wooden airstone as diffuser), lately bought a nano diffuser but seem to be not working. Seem like not enough pressure to push the co2 out from the diffuser or the diffuser is faulty

1.5L bottle with 250g of sugar
    1tsp yeast

May i know what ur ingredient for the Co2?
    How long does it last?

this last me 2 weeks-3 weeks

as for the equipments, 1.5 litre pressure water sprayer/ air tube / nano ceramic diffuser/ 1 way air valve.

erm, i am using the same as you.. 1.5L coke bottle, but 450g of sugar, 5g of baking yeast and 1g of baking soda.. at first the bubble counter shows my co2 bottle is working, but it's not really working because there's some leak of co2 at my coke bottle cap (i dump the whole bottle into a pail of water and use my thumb to block the outlet of the airline and there's bubble coming out from the bottle cap)..

as for how long it last, i counting the day now cause 16sept is the first day.. it's working fine till now..

Make sure there is no leak in every connections. A leaky system is always the problem.

Mine usually stops after 5 days and the drop check will turn back to blue.

    1/2 teaspoon of yeast
    1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup (using measuring cup) of suga
    2L of water

Still trying to fine tune it make it last for more than a week.

    hi
    is your bottle 2L?
maybe you can use 1tsp of yeast instead of 1/2 tsp, compare both see which method can last...
or you can use wine yeast or beer yeast....which can last longer
