some how yes i think so...

as for the colour, normaly it look faded in the morning before you on the light. but it continue to look faded something might be wrong with them. just keep a close watch on them.

gave up neon.... to much problem. when you bought they look fine after a few months or so. problem starts to appear- either the low or upper part of mouth gone missing and look deform.

anyway, i have a harlequin with white spots, and am keeping a close tap on my cardinals. Anyone has a hospital tank that can help me out on the harlequin? I dun mind giving it to you if it is cured. Just can't stand to take it out and suffocate it.

Read up on "white spots" or "ich" and you will realise that you do not need a hospital tank.

paid a visit yesterday to C328. I saw a medication that claimed could cure the neon tetra diseased. How effective... not sure. Bottle found on the shelve behind the counter. Problem is I forgot the name. Took down the name, wrote it on the receipt. Now lost it.

    **** man,

    my cardinal getting worse.

First it is just 1 fish which seems to lose its red color.
now got 4. Dunno whether really lose red color or is it some clouding of the skin preventing the red from being seem.
Don't see any growth or whitish thing on the body, no white spots, fungus etc.

Anyone has similar experience? or is there nothing to worry about?

    Regards

Somehow, my cardinals have not died yet.
Red color still seems to be masked by a layer of whitish / pale skin (i don't know what) But color sometimes come back sometimes don't. The small ones are fine, the large cardinals exhibit this to certain extend. Already a month + already and still no casualty, so maybe i am just scaring myself.

has been almost six months already and still no casualty.
think it is just a passing condition and nothing to worry about.

My Cardinal Tetras has the exact same disease as you have described. I separated it from the rest and it has since died.

    Maybe shouldn't have seperated them.
Seperation causes the fish to have to adjust to new tank, thus introducing more stress?

    Just a thought.

As still cannot confirm if it is a kind of disease, maybe the thing that really killed the fish is stress due to undue worry on our part and also seperation.
