A few Questions on Marine set up

Q1
currently i have two 5ft tanks, one planted and another flower horn. if i were to convert one of them to marine. Is the thickness of the tank OK>?
size about 1600x500x550 thickness is 12mm all size.

Q2
currently the filters on the flower horn tank are 2026 and 2226. and i have also a spare 2227. What kind of filter is good? and how can i fully utilize those of the above i have?

Q3
what's the different from a protein skimmer to a fresh eater surface skimmer. what does a protein skimmer do- what would you recommend for 5 ft?

Must i use under gravel fillter??? LFS says what?? it will compress the Nsomething to below of the tank something like that??? i blur blur also.

Q5
Currently light are 2 FL 36w one daylight and another is those pinkish type. Must i chnage one of them to the bluish one?

yes.. it is sufficient

go for the 2227.. but i dun think it is sufficient.. u might want to consider getting the 2226 inside as well.. wun hurt to have more filtration

protein skimmer helps to remove dissolved wastes that are not able to be removed by the filtered. u can consider getting an external skimmer.. like tunze..

no need to use UGF.. u need to know abt the NH3, NO2 and NO3 cycle.. i.e, nitrogen cycle.. u must get it right.. if not, u are wasting your money and killing innocent lives

lights, u need to count the no. of kelvins given out.. not the wattage or color.. for bluish light, u can go for the actinic blue lights

What will be ideal for the thickness of the sand bed for my 5 ft? some says 2" 3" 6"???
totally up to u.. to have an effective DSB, deep sand bed, u need up to 6"

More question,

So for the filter media can be the same as the fresh water ones?

the light would be 6500K x 2, is this ok?

WOW 6" ft sand bed, must be heavy. need as least 15 pack of 10Kg sand, right?

Is the external skimmer bulky? does it need to contect to existing filter?
