I found it quite funny. So far all the 20 odd frys that I transferred to my bigger tanks developed into males. Even those that I gave to friends also turn out to be males. I have not noticed a female yet.

The frys were kept in a small glass tank w/o filtration. Only some floating plants. The survival rate is almost 100%.

Is the air-con room temperature a factor? It's like 22C most of the time.

The pH should be neutral as it is a bare tank. Maybe it is the temperature?

It is interesting to know at what stage do the frys develop into male or female.

OK. For the next batch of frys, I will use a heater to see if they can turn up higher % of females.
