    Hi,

I've read that a the water in a saltwater aquarium must move quite a bit in order for the exchange of gases and also the prevention of algae. What is the recommended circulation rate for a FOWLR and also for reef aquariums in the number of tank volume an hour? Thanks.

    Nau,
i am running 2 x 1060 for my 4ft tank. it might be a bit excessive but i can tell myself that it is filtering my tank on an estimated 3 times per hour..
FOWLR = Fish only aquarium? what is the full definition?
The flow rate depends on the tank size.. for reef, creating cross current to stimulate the natural environment.
