    Hi,
    I have a tank in my office, set up for weeks already, the first couple weeks my crypto are doing fine.
    But when I come back to office two days ago, on Monday, found all my crypto are turning black and looks like going to rot. In fact they look like all dead today. I cut off these rotting leaves yesterday but this morning all gone.

    Here is the details of the tank
    1 ft tank (water volume is 9 L only)
    11 W light from 9 am to 5:30 pm. light is off during weekend(could this be the main probelm?)
    I have 3 species of crypto, moss on driftwood and ferns too.
    using ADA africana
    fish = puntius gelius x 4, boraras maculata x 1, all doing fine.
    Ph & KH = didn't measure before
    temperature = around 25 i think.

    I do water chage, about 1.5 liter per time, everyday 2, 3 days.

    Could it be a disease???

    Pls advise.

    Cheers

    I think the crypt may have just gone throug a melting phase. It may grow back if you keep the roots and rhizome in the substrate.

    Crypts are know to melt when the water conditions vary. They also like to be left alone with minimal disturbance.

    Maybe the frequent water changes has caused the melt.

    hi, thanks.
    when I first plant them a few weeks ago, at the begining some melt, but after then, all seemed ok. New leaves were seen.

    Last friday, everything were ok.

    The 2 days dark environment caused them gorw upwards in fact.
