Can someone enlighten?
There is no need for such precision with K as the nutrient does not induce algae growth at high levels (Dose estimatively should do). You only need to be anal with N as high levels of it can cause algae issues.

Most test methods for pottassium is beyond hobbyist level. Professionals use methods like atomic absorption spectrometry for potassium analysis. I also do not recall that LaMotte has a kit for potassium testing. I remembered Tom Barr mentioned had a kit that measure potassium but I can't remember who's the maker.(Again, my memory may not be right that Tom has such a kit. )
Potassium (K+) remains very stable as cations in water. K is way down the negative end in the electrochemical series. So I guess it would very difficult to get the K+ to react or precipitate for a simple visual test.

Its more of a turbidity test...

Peter, you are right. LaMotte do have a test kit to a turbidity test for Potassium. It is sold as part of the hydroponics kit.
