I have it in my 20 x 20 cube...temp maintained at 20 degree during office hr and 24 degree on Sun. Depends alot on ambiance temp...normally if tank is placed in cool area...the Ice probe can lowered the water temp by 1.5 - 2 degree.

Can still buy them in Spore...but quite expensive.

A test for this LumenAqua LED lightset. Will the glossostigma carpet low or grow tall?

Hi, thank you so much for sharing your experience with the IceProbe chiller. That is very typical of TEM chillers. Can I know from where did you purchase the chiller? Thought of bringing it from overseas online shops but cost of shipping deterred me from doing so.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Cube Garden (Lazy Backyard)

I was lucky I managed to get it 2nd handed before I ordered online.

I will only advise using TEM chiller if ur environment is cool like in a office or a really windy/shady corner. I tried it at my place and cant get the water temp to go down further than 27/26 degree.

Its perfect for an office nano setting as its quiet.

    Hi,

I have just bought a Reserve a Resun C0500 to be used on my 4ft tank and the current chiller will in turn be used on my 1ft cube. Thanks for looking out anyway. Appreciate it pal.

    Re: Cube Garden (Lazy Backyard)

For your information, your current chiller for your 4 feet might be overkill for your 1 feet cube. We should help each other as we are in the same hobby.

    Re: Cube Garden (Lazy Backyard)

You can actually get those TEM chiller from LFS. I can't really comment though because never try it .

IMO resun C0500 is way overkill, if not mistaken it is 1/2 hp. The pump requirement probably 1000l/h or more

    Re: Cube Garden (Lazy Backyard)

eviltrain - My current chiller for my 4ft is CL280 set at 27 degrees. For my 1 ft I intend to chill it down to 25 degrees. Once chiller kicks in for my 1ft cube, shrimps will be up next.

Shadow - Think there's a misunderstanding, the C0500 is going to be used on my 4ft, whereas the existing chiller will be moved to my study for the 1ft cube.

Thanks for valuable tips and advise.

Will update progress soon, waiting for the Glosso to grow. Maybe I'll start with my liquid fertiliser & additives soon.

I see, though I still think cL280 overkill may end up waste unnecessary electric bill

    Re: Cube Garden (Lazy Backyard)

The light is sure nice! but it is a major ripped off from Japanese's Mame Design Eco light. Way to go China...

more info on reefbuilder.com who has also done a short review about the china copy

    http://reefbuilders.com/2010/05/28/v...b-yellow-leds/

the only problem is the china copy has decided to cut cost and cut away the cooling fan, which I felt that a big no no.... and above all... I dont trust china electronics... especially if they are not form a reputable manufacturer....

but if the price is decent as for a china made copy, who can complain? buy, use, spoil, trash, and repeat.

    Re: Cube Garden (Lazy Backyard)

blue33 - Great gesture! But at the moment my aim is to test out this 'china copy' of LED lightset as what BBA truthfully spelt out.

BBA - Like you, I always have doubts in china made electronics, but was convinced by LumenAqua this time (mainly due to low cost, to be frank). The lightset is surprising not extremely hot to touch even on the heat sink as compared to MH/HQI, so a fan is not critical for this lightset. Somehow, I feel the addition of a fan will ruin the aesthetics of it. Lets see how long this china copy will last. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Here's an update of the lazy backyard. Seems like the glosso in front were kept low I pray that those in mid ground will creep nicely too.
