    Hi all

My 2l CO2 tank has a bubble counter rate of 4bps.(roughly)
This high bubble counter rate is required to reach CO2 level of 15-25ppm for my 3ft tank.

Do anyone know how long the tank will last?
(I am using a manual pressure gauge, valve open all the way throgh the night)

To make the tank last longer, what will be the better solution.
    1) Change to a larger CO2 tank. (Nature don't take mine as it is a Taiwan brand)
    2) Change to a solenoid.

Due to the cost, i am only able do one of the above first.
So is 1) or 2) a better solution to make my tank last longer?
    Thks.

    Larger CO2 tank = more CO2.

Solenoid = no wastage of CO2 at night when the plants don't need it.

I'd prefer getting a solenoid as there's a less likely chance of CO2 overdose, hence poisoning. However, I think a solenoid is a lot more expensive then a new larger CO2 tank.

Another thing to consider, do you have space for a larger CO2 cylinder. They must be placed standing upright when in use.

Nature selling solenoid for only $90.
The price is around the same as a larger tank.
Think may consider buying the solenoid.

But how long will the tank last at this rate, Vinz?
    Thks for the help.

It depends on your "lights on" timing. Basically, it should extend the amount of CO2 by atleast 2 times.

How big is the sky? If you can tell me, I can probably tell you how long your tank will last. []

Peter, eh, make fun of ppl already, at least tell him roughly how long your cylinder lasts lah. .

Chua, Very hard to say unless you know precisely how much CO2 is in the cylinder and how much is expended everyday. As a vague gauge, my 5 litre CO2 cylinder running approximately 12 hours a day lasts my 6 foot (540 litres of water) aquarium about 3 to 4 months.

A 2 litre one lasts my 160 litre aquarium about 6 months
