don't inject CO2 (if using cylinder) during lights out period. if DIY it would be the last thing to worry about.

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

If I am using a manual regulator for my CO2 tank, how do i prevent CO2 poisoning?
By keeping CO2 no higher than 35ppm will keep your fish save. Do a seach on pH/KH/Co2, you will find how to measure CO2 in water.
There is a electrical shutoff valve AKA solenoid valve which we can turn on and off the CO2 supply from a pressurised cylinder. This solenoid can be connected to a timer which can turn off the CO2 supply in the night. It can also be connected to a pH controller to maintain a constant CO2 ppm in the water.

----------------
Measure the pH and KH before lights turn on and after lights off. Calculate the CO2 ppm.
Adjust the CO2 bubbling such that CO2 falls within the range of 20-30ppm.

oic! thanks for the advice!
Mike,
Regards to your question, there ia a way to minimise co2 poisonning which is with a pH controller. This system may be good but do not come with a light price tag.
