Go those hardware store to find 3M micro fibre sponge to "scrub" off those algae. Gentle on glass~~~
Hi everyone!!! im chong here! my friend just gave me a 3ft tank and wanted to start anew but i had difficulty clearing those greeny algae that stuck on the glass wall itself!
no matter how much i scrub it, it wont come off just scare that too much scrubing will scratch the wall of the glass.
Isit recommend to use bleach to soak it?!?? (as i read online) or dun use any hash chemcials
Hope that you guys here can give me a hand!!!

okokok thx ya still got any other ways?
Use the sponge that eviltrain suggested, along with some lime juice. It seems the tank is not suffering just from that algae coat, but also mineral deposits from years of evaporation of tank water.

Hi gd evening all! thx so much for those helpful respond ya really appreciate it
i can say using Pure Lemon juice make wonders! i tried today and it works!!!
At first i thought it cant work out. As i go and scrub it greeny partical came off bit by bit
by using a newly brought scrub and apply it to those areas wif stubbon algaes.
While waiting i go apply to the whole tank. Clean up the whole tank instead!
but now it still have some HARD UP particals on the med of the tank that cant be remove no matter what
Think i'll drown it wif lemon juice tml and see how it goes!
(But i its not easy thou to get those junk off it takes around 3 to 5mins to get one small potion OFF, i sweat a TON!!!)

Well, like they say, hard work eventually pays off. Nice to see the tank all shiny and new.
@andylau777,
UV filters are only able to handle green water, and not so much the other forms of algae. Since this is an encrusted form of algae with mineral deposits, the use of the UV lights is not going to help.

i gotta try to clean those hard up wan later hhahha
Haha, use the lemon juice, soak the bits then you blast the sections with running tap water. After that use a plastic card to scrape it off. I find those SIMcard leftover plastic to be perfect for this.

i done it alr but some off the stain no matter wait till i get ad still get remove think must my tank set up got fish inside den the stain will slowly get away hahha
Maybe. Though if the tank's inner surface is already scratched, the algae/stain may be embedded so it might be very difficult to clear. I would just turn this tank into a quarantine tank or just for growing plants like mosses.
