    Hi Folks,

Any idea if the above plant is chain sword ? Where can I get it and is it true it needs moderate light ? I'm looking around for undemanding foreground plants to replace j. blyxxa and eventually move to low-tech, low-light and low-maintenance tank.

    Thks.

Yours is a 2ft tank, right?
E.tenellus would be better. EQ can grow taller than 10cm to be a foreground plant. Moreover, EQ needs more light than ET.
If you want to try EQ, I can trim some for you.

Yeah. Mine is a 2 ft tank. 10 cm is kinda of tall for foreground but shd be ok if that's absolutely max as my 2ft is taller than most 2ft tanks. Yes, would like to give it a try but only after your next maintenance prune. Don't want to trouble u too much. Do u happen to have e. tenellus as well ? Thinking of putting them in together and see which one make it better. Ultimately, I would like to move towards slower growing and less demanding and low light plants ... to the point I can just switch on 1 36W PL light. I have less time these days but still like to keep a planted tank which is a joy to watch.

    Thks in advance KF.

They were doing well ... but only with DIY CO2 and 1st few mths after changing new light tubes. I've adjusted my light-on from 10 hr to 8 hr and this seems to have a detrimental effect on j. blyxxa - tips turned yellow and sometimes seem to melt off and they never grow taller after replanting them. I'm trying to move towards low-light tank and this plant is not suitable based on what i know.

Unfortunately 10 cm is not an absolute maximum for EQ... those in my tank are probably closer to 15cm in height.

    e. quad seems to require more light than e. tennelus.
and e. quad does grow to more than 10cm tall.
