    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

    Thanks for your kind comment.

It is a custom made light set. I got one of LFS to DIY it for me using alluminium frame.

Powered with 2x Osram High Performance e-ballast + 4x Giesemann Powerchrome Midday T5HO bulbs.

FWAH!! Nice growth of glosso! Look so so so healthy! Simple but Super!!! The algae on the rocks adds a natural look to your scape. Add in some Shrimps would be nice!!! Hope to see more updates on your tank.

    Happy nEw Year!!

PROX, what a stunning display you have there! I love the way you make use of the vertical climb of the Glosso as well as the selection of rocks, the arrangement to look like a natural plateau which takes advantage of the horizontal width of the tank.. It looks very natural, as though it was never touched by human hands.

    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

Actually this tank is scheduled to be scrapped down very soon due to weaken silicone. I have transferred all the fishes/shrimps to one of my friend until my new 2.5ft tank is up and running. There are over 100 shrimps and 25 Oto/SAE inside before I took the pics.

Believe it or not, this tank is actually easy to maintain. I do not have any algae issue from day 1 (Besides a little fungus during the initial setup which later on got eaten by Yamato Shrimp/Oto/SAE)

wow - very clean, simple lines. Rocks and glosso - wonderful! Your equipment is also very impressive, I especially like your CO@ tanks - wahh... ADA one; (reminds me of Scuba divers' tanks) They look so good to be outside the cabinet! :-)

Impressive that you even build your own tanks.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

I didnt build the tank myself. It was custom made by one of the LFS.

The Co2 tank is not ADA. It is normal metal tank. I sprayed it with white paint and put ADA sticker on it otherwise too plain

thanks for all the kind comment..

Sad to say that I have scraped down everything today due to the weaken silicone joint. I will keep you guys updated on my new little project - 2.5ft shallow tank.

    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

Amazing that you could keep crs in this tank since it's always
said that to keep crs best is simple just have moss and stay away
from adding ferts or else it might kill your crs.
Perhaps yours is a 5 feet thus with such a wide parameter
it has a huge buffer for PH swing(co2) etc.

    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

Sometimes i did 100% water change via "water in water out" method and all my CRS still survive. Higher resistance now after go through few phases like that.

Nice scape. With just only shrimps and algae eater only you can easily get away from algae in such a big tank but if you've introduce fish in and it'll be different story. For tank silicone, the best silicone to use is still from Germany, for aquarium use, in Spore the only one if i'm not wrong still using Germany silicone is Coralreef. You pay for the price of quality.

blue33 - Tank will be sent over to glue back using German silicone. However, it is in black only and really premium price compare to normal one. As for the livestock, i didnt introduce display fish because i do not intend to feed them. I never feed all livestock in this tank for over 4mths.

neverwalkalone - ADA actually have CO2 tank but it is definitely not cheap I can only opt for touch up to make my plain co2 tank looks nicer.

bro PROX, your 5 feet is really impressive. can't imagine such a huge rock at the centre of the tank. Is there any support such as styrofoam board under the centre rock to distribute the weight? is the tank dimension in 5 x 1.5 x 1 ?

    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

If is normal glass i wont spend $ to use so expensive silicone to repair it unless is a better grade glass, like crystal glass etc etc.
