Shrimps favourite plant, Myriophyllum Mattogrossense. Heard from a friend who came to my house saying Japan shrimps lover like to keep this plant with their shrimps. Whether this is true or not, i'm not sure but i do see lots of shrimps on this plant myself.

    Pic taken without the shrimps.

you starve your shrimps is it? hungry till eat your plant, has never happen to me. just like some people keep SAE and expect SAE to eat full meal algae, in the end they eat the moss. lots of time is the owner who got the wrong concept on the fauna, plant etc etc.

Hi. May I know if this plant requires CO2 and strong lighting? Thanks!

Agree that shrimps like this plant, the problem I had is it grew too fast and maintainenance is a problem for me.
Adrian, can you help to advise how to maintain it as I still hope to have it in my shrimp tank.

Cold water would slow down most plant grow. Things like HIGH -Nitrate/Lighting/temperature would accelerate plant grow.

For trimming, do you trim the top or snip the bottom?

Due to the shape of this plant you've to trim from below. After few trim it'll get very compact, when is too compact the bottom leaves will turn yellow and start to drop off, roots will grow below also. After 4-5 trim what you can do is replant the top and remove the bottom entirely. Pretty easy to grow plant.

Thanks for e reply. One more thing is... Must this plant be planted into e soil? or can I tie e base to a rock as I'm not keen in planting it in e soil. Thanks!
