    Hi All,

Any recommendations for small-leafed plants (similar sized to HC) for low-tech tanks. I am re-scaping and would appreciate if anyone can provide some recommendations as I am not current on aquatic plants lately.
I don't intend to use HP CO2, just seachem flourish excel for carbon dosing.
By the way has anyone tried the ceomat CO2 system or the Baxter Labs CO2 Fizz powder?

    Thanks.

How about Hygrophila polysperma? Low tech and they grow small

Why don't you just use HC? They can thrive in low tech tanks too!

Re: Small-leafed Plants for low-tech Tank

    Thanks all for your suggestions.

@ hondacivic and Goththug - Have tried Glosso and HC in my previous tanks. They need lots carbon and esepcially high light to stay at ground level.

@ barmby - Can't use Hygrophila polysperma as the leave size would not complement the rest of the tank. It's just a 45cm x 20+cm tank. Other plants in the tank now are mini bolbitis, anchor & flame moss, mini fissidens and hairgrass. May try other mosses if the fronds stay small.

    Thinking of using either:
zipper moss for foreground but don't think it will creep. Also heard frond can grow to height of 1.5 inches. OR
mini pelia but I never had much success with it, chilled or non-chilled tanks.

Hygrophila polysperma need time to cultivate them to be dwarf, and stay tiny. With your low-tech environment can give it a shot.. just like bonsai!! they should grow slow

@ Barmby, thanks for the info. May give it a try if I can find time.

mid ground, try nana petite and foreground, hairgrass. You can train to hairgrass to be low if you trim constantly.
