some thing strange happened to my tank, lost all my male guppies 1 x 1. kept them for few weeks liao and even have baby guppies but recently all my male started to die, leaving all those widows kurbing the urge. even those new born babies all female, LOL what have i done, radiation? any one any experiance this? care to share? or maybe coincident.

errr.... i think all new born guppies look like females.... the male's "thingie" only develops when the fish grows up.... your males kena overexerted and die of exhaustion izzit???

Yes, I believe gonopodial poecilids suffer from a piscine form of penis envy. The non-neurotic individuals succeed in subsuming (or castrating, the Herr Doktor would say) their fear of an Oedipal complex (the possibility of mating with their mothers) by practicing avowed parental cannibalism of their young. Whereas the chronically neurotic, upon pubescene, channel the bulk of their physiological energy into forming an organ of oppression in an attempt to negate their infantile anxieties.
