    Dear bros, pls help to ID this fish. It is about 3 cm long and seldom seen in lfs. It has a slightly purple colour near its tail. Thanks.

    From the blurry photos that you showed, I agree with Stan Chung that its definitely a Cochus blue tetra, Boehlkea Fredcochui. Emperor tetra has a bold black band that runs along the mid-section of its body which the blue tetra lacks & have extra filaments sticking out of its fins. Looks rare to me because I haven't been able to find blue tetra available in Singapore. Even the majestic looking emperor tetra is not that common around.

    be careful releasing this fish into your aquarium. it can be quite territorial.
