Just a silly question as I never planted Mosses before.
Interested to try java or christmas moss. after being tied onto the wood for say some months, will it get rooted onto the wood? Then I can remove the ulgry thread?

Or will it be like Riccia? wont get rooted onto anything and keep floating?

Yes, mosses are awfully clingy things.... wind black cotton thread around the moss and wood and tie the ends.... then wait for 2-3 weeks with cool water. They will not cry if you cut the ties.
