Dear all, to kick of 2011, I thought that I may just want to start by generating this poll to have a feel of interest at ground level before proceeding to plan anything concrete.

I gather that off late, there are interest in aquascaping/paludarium/vivarium workshops and i thought why not do a combined one. But for something of this scale to pull off, the logistics can be a potential night mare.

Hence, I would like to ask if the community here is willing to pay for such a workshop should it materialise.

Let me know your thoughts and I will see if I can put something together for the benefit of everyone keen.

    Thanks.

i'm in as long as its reasonable price ~50, and is conducted by a professional. We are talking about the concept of aquascaping, the basic knowledge. Hopefully not someone just come over and tells stories and show off his past setups. We are hear it FOC from all fellow senior here

Define professional. If you want Amano, he's way too expensive to get.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Haha, we pay for what we get. I just want to go home after the workshop finding it worthwhile. Anything from the seniors here is more than enough. Been to Adrian's house. Quite an eye opener.

I think realistically, we know that Amano is way too expensive to get. Wouldn't mind going to Adrian's house though.

    Re: Aquascaping workshop poll

Thank you all for the interest.

Well, When I mooted the idea of charging for the workshop, I am looking at engaging local professionals whom have been trained overseas in either the Taiwan scaping method or the ADA method. I am definetly not looking at a hobbyist just like you and me to do the sessions.

To my knowledge, in Singapore itself, we have about 6 persons whom are trained either by Amano himself or by some taiwan master.

For the paludarium workshops, there are also a few names in mind. Question here is how much are we willing to pay for them to come and share with us when they can be busied themselves doing setups for companies/institutions?

For a start, $50 as quoted here in the earlier thread may seems workable.

    Let me know your thoughts.

My very same thought, although we do have to make it worth their while, besides the pleasure of meeting and sharing experience. Everyone could bring something to contribute, I will bring a pack of beer
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.
