very nicely done. the driftwood is lovely.

to be constructive, maybe you can add some taller plants to hide the filter.
maybe a small bunch or rotala wallichi to add some red and hide the filter teh same time will be nice!

but still, a job well done!

can try the eheim liberty series of hanging filters, find it very effective in my 1ft cube.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Very nice! Except for the hair algae (seems to occur in my tank when there's too much dirt trapped in the plants (usually blyxa) or filter media). E15 only? No V30? Agree that the filter is an eyesore, but that's the problem with small tanks. Maybe consider the Ehiem 2231 if you have the budget for it.

Thanks for your kind comments. []

Yalor, must hide the filter ... I used to use a canister filter but this time round thought it would be easier without the tubing mess and more difficult/leychey filter cleansing [:]

in the long run, i did not like the small internal filter... they get choked up too easily. you should make it a point to clean the filter a day or two after if your maintainance/scaping activities stir up a lot of dirt or base fert. Also siphon up whatever settles on the gravel ASAP.

Use hang-on-back filter makes it easy to clean and maintain filter media. And it does not take up precious space in a small tank.

IMO You can try using some driftwood tied with moss to hide the filter
    ...I love rubies too ...

60cm will be too huge, my tank height only 45cm, hope it doesnt become siao so soon

Feimiao, thanks for suggesting. Will look out for small driftwood. Your tank posted in petfrd is very nice
