what i meant was a nice arrangement but easy to clean like vacuum as the waste produce always stuck in between the gravels.Sorry for the unclear title

do scape with the whole gravel cover by plants. some thing like iwagumi.

mines for shrimp,so its possible right?cos iwagumi no place for them to hide.

For shrimp, try not to put big fish inside, fish less maybe or you can use hairgrass, the shrimp fry should be able to hide inside. There definitely be some fry missing if you put big fish

i have a brilliant idea! have nothing but mosses on woods to create height and mosses on stainless steel meshes to create carpet. if you wanna clean your gravel just lift everything off and clean. think about it!

Just use gravel and then tie mosses and pellia to wood and riccia to stones, then you can lift them in and out and clean the gravel easily. You could create a very "zen stone garden" feel with 'islands' of rocks and plants, very lush areas contrasted with the clean gravel would look lovely.
