    Hi Guys,

    Got another problem.

My Riccia Lawn has stopped bubbling. Before the lawn grew out when it was still under the netting on the mesh, they were pearling and bubbling, however now, they've stopped. I've not done anything dramatic to the water of the setup. Can anyone explain?

    CO2 - 3 bubbles per sec
Lights - 2 x 36w directly on the Riccia lawn, a total of 5 x 36w in the whole tank.
    Using Base fert.
    Temp - 27 deg

    No fertiliser in the water??
Riccia don't get nutrients from substrate since is has no root. It get from the water column.

Was OK, maybe initial fertiliser leakage form the substrate? Now all used up? no more nutrients in the water...

Riccia can't use the basefert, so that's irrelevant to this case. Are you using any other fert?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Simple man. add some water column fertilizer and they will bubble liao

Got to warn you, the lawn will kind of break away if it is not trimmed regularly. Mine just did The entire lawn look like it is being pulled out from one side. good thing is that I now got plenty of healthy riccia again

Riccia is a plant that required high maintenance.

I cannot guarantee that you won't get an algae outbreak if you add liquid fert now (since it depends on experience and luck) ... But you are very likely to get an algae outbreak if you don't.

Algae strives when there is a nutrient imbalance, i.e. you have excess of some nutrients but have ran out of some others. I would expect your lighting to be strong (3W/Gal) since you are growing riccia. I would quickly read up on the ways we can dose liquid fert if I were you.
