    HI all!
Just wanna know whether the two require the same amount of maintenance as i am currently thinking of rescaping my riccia foreground since it floated up yesterday!
Feel free to share your experiences!
    thanks in advance.

IMO, both are more or less demanding in terms of maintenance. Glosso in not maintained will grow tall tall whereas riccia will float up [:0]

Between the 2 there are + & -... both are light & CO2 demanding, "Among the TWO" I would say Glosso is easir to maintain. "TAKE NOTE: AMONG THE TWO"

    Glosso:
    - Back Pain to plant in the first place.
    - Runner will spread if given enough light.
    - In Shaded or low light area, Glosso will either grow tall or new plants will not grow there at all.

    Riccia:
    - no way to plant, can only be tied to object.
    - Fast growth and will float if not trim
    - Loose riccia always can be found on water surface.
    - Sometimes Riccia will turned Darkgreen and will not form bubble anymore.

Overall, I would choose Glosso for foreground and Riccia to cover up object (Rock, wood). Maybe you can try Moss as your foreground, like what Nature Aquarium does, very nice!

Thanks guys!! ya.. glosso headache is the planting part, as for CO2 and lights should not be a problem cos my riccia at the front portion of tank has been bubbling like crazy! Just that i am too tired of trimming them, cos they grow so fast. Will be converting to glosso foreground liao..

I had planted glosso at my foreground a month back and now the spreaded and covered fully.

Point to note is : 1) Direct Sufficient LIGHT and CO2 2) No overhead plants blocking them. 3)Patience

I personally feel that both types of plants need high maintenance.

Maybe you can consider other easier plants as your foreground if you find it too much of a problem.

i only have glosso in my tank. It is quite a fast growing plants and if they grow over each other, the below glosso will have algae very easily.

Both glosso and riccia require lot of maintenance and care. My glosso all disappeared after i planted them but my riccia managed to glow and bubble. Saw in some site that they grows only hairgrass. looks very nice also. What about Echinodorus tenellus? I will slowing "phase out" riccia and replace it with E. tenellus since I have lose patience with riccia. Think E.Tenellus will propagate by runner after some time.

If you're asking which requires more fertilisation, I would say it's glosso. Glosso is more K demanding plant compare to riccia.

    Thanks for the input guys!!
Kinda tired catching up with the trimmings of riccia, growing superfast.
That's why considering to try glosso, don't mind the planting part, only thing i am worried is the layering growth of glosso causing the bottom leaves to rot. Anyway, decide to give it a try la..
Does petmart (Serangoon North) sells glosso?

Petmart selling glosso in a sealed plastic bag. However when I saw it yesterday, the glosso was not so "fresh", a lot of yellow leaf. The salesman said the new batch of shipment will be there today.
