Its happening for the third time!! Just washed my Ehiem external filter, only to be delighted by the sight of 30++ cherry shrimps that were bred in the filter over the last two months!!! This is the third time it is happening. Guess the earlier babies were sucked into the filter and they grew from within. With the 'nutrients' in the filter, these chaps thrived!
So the next time you do a filter cleaning, do look out for any newborns of shrimps or fries. Have a great weekend![]

Congrats! I just had a sad case with my Malayan Shrimp though. Saw this heavily pregnant one and wanted to ensure a high survival rate for its fry so i went to buy a breeder net, those plastic frame covered with netting thingie, and hung it at a corner of my tank, even cut some java moss and put inside for the mother shrimp to hang around with. But it died the next morning So sad... wanted to help it but instead killed it.

Maybe you can harvest more of it. Then sell it.

Set up your own business at home.

    I will be your customer.

I have released all of them into my main planted tank. No intentions to sell... till such time the next harvest maybe!
