looks to me it is due to insufficient lighting, I could be wrong Your plants generally looks healthy except for the undergrowth within the stemmed plants
how many watt is you light?
Hi ,
I'm using 2X9 watts osram PL lights.
these tube have been used almost to a year . wonder will it be useful if i change the bulb tube
tank size is 30x16x20 cm
Some trees stay green the whole year round while others lose their leaves in the fall and winter and grow new leaves in the spring. If you've ever seen trees lose their leaves in the fall, you may have noticed that the leaves turn from green to yellow, red, or orange before eventually falling to the ground.
Hi I'm new to palnted tanks too so pardon me if my suggestion is not right.
From what I have read all over the net and planted forums,
generally the WPG (watts per gallon) rule doesn't hold true for small tanks or those nano inspired tanks.
Most probably you need more light and crank up the CO2 too
My experience with green stem plants have been always awesome
For red stem plant Ammannia senegalensis i initially had the same problem as you (running 3ftx1.5x1.5) on 2x39watts T5 and 2bps CO2.
So I added my old 2x18watts T8 and within a few days my Ammannia senegalensis started to freshen up and grow healthy.
A word of caution though and I learnt in the hard way. With more light comes algae too so you definitely will need to up the Co2.
That was my experience, hope it helps.
Cheers
Maybe you should change your light... The wattage is too low for a planted tank... As for red plant you will need iron so the plant will stay red...
Other bros please correct me if I'm wrong... Still learning too...
Good fish ain't cheap... Cheap fish ain't gd...
Breeding Apisto inca and Apisto guttata...
I too have read that iron will make red plants stay red.
On the other hand certain plants turn reddish if there insufficient nitrates
The thing is most info about aquatic plants on the net are quite jumbled up with many names and many more "commonly known as names". As a beginner it's quite confusing and the fact that most lfs doesn't really state the aquatic plants name clearly or correctly doesn't help either.
Sorry for the ranting... Hehehe
