Do anyone try to deworm their galaxy before releasing into the main tank?

Notice many galaxy sold in the market seem to have worm problem (flat stomach, not eating, look weak). Some places don't even want to carry these fish due to this problem. Survival rate not very high.

Where did you get yours from? I got six 4 months back and lost none. In that time I lost some clown killifish, fire red and a rummy nose tetra. They seem pretty hardy. Colored up nicely too and now quite a bit bigger then when I first bought them

The problem here is not with a Camallanus or "worm problem". The issue is that most of these LFS do not feed these CPD properly. They are small micro predators that do not like dried foods and will mostly go for small live food like Daphnia or BBS. If the shops don't feed them the proper food, they get skinny and die of malnutrition.

Once you can train them to take dry food they will survive. Do not panic over a perceived worm problem. Just make sure you get healthy nicely shaped specimens because those that are too skinny are too far gone to save.
    Fish.. Simply Irresistable
    Back to Killies... slowly.
