    This does not belong in the Cichlid subforum hence moved to Freshwater Fauna.

    Excellent pictures of the Badis spawn. Apistoinka, they are not cichlids, but Badids, since they are from the family Badidae. People seldom breed them because to sell the resulting young is a massive pain...

    They behave very much like cichlids hence the confusion, but they are pretty easy to spawn. Males are stunning in their dark blue breeding dress.

    Wow... What are the requirement to breed them??? Can they be keep together and let them breed and what's the water parameter like??? It's so interesting...

    There is a treasure trove of information on Google. People have different methods of keeping them, since Badis badis is a common fish. They have been bred in all sorts of conditions as far as I know. They are cave spawners, much like Apistos. Feed the parents well with live foods and high quality dried foods and they will spawn pretty soon. Males are very aggressive at times so keep a look out.

    I am agree with you .The pair of fish have spawn for 3 times in 2 month
