    tank parameters:
    Nh3/Nh4=0
    KH=2
    NO2=0
    PH=7

    antichloramine is always used (seachem prime).
    ------------------

    the symptoms tend to be similar for any of my cories that die in quarantine, just trying to get a clue from others.

    blood streaked tail area. anal area.

    suspect some form of internal bacteria?

    3 out of 4 robinaes I bought died this way. the last one survived a qt period of 7 days.

    Chris, is the QT running all the while or is it just setup? Is the filter seasoned? If it is just setup for the purpose, I suspect the NO2 kit...but that is my opinion only.

    my qt (1ft cube) tank runs all the time.

    nh3/nh4/no2 is not a concern at all because I run it with carbon/zeolite and I test the water etc.

    reason I use carbon/zeolite mix is so that I don't have to worry about bioload spike/cycling considering that the load of fish I qt changes each week or so.

    take note that QT started with the following cories.
    2 concolor
    2 baby panda
    4 robinae
    1 tretlii
    1 greenline
    1 similis
    5 baby caudimaculatus
    ------------------
    fish that died - 3 robinae, 1 panda, 1 caudimaculatus.

    take note though that the robinae came from a certain fish shop at my house.

    so if its a disease what would it be?
    the problem with disease identification is selecting the right medication to treat.

    yet another problem.

    some of the fish . (ie: caudimaculata and guapore only) have very visible red gills.

    eg:

    the problem with the caudimaculata above is that its only 2 out of 9 that have this problem,same with the guapore

    water change regiment is about twice a week.

    Stop all medications and do daily water changes...maybe 30-40%...nothing beats a water change. Something is not right...I wonder if all your nitrifying bacteria is still alive? I sure don't like to see those cute fellows die..

    that's my water parameters.

    a lot of deaths are species specific (ie: not all corydoras, just one species.)

    in my case, robinae, axelrodi are the hardest hit.

    go check the nitrite test kit expiration date
    red gills are a diagnosis for nitrite poisoning
    also, are you using salt?
