hey bene, is this using your G3 or IXUS400? or did you succumb too and got a 300D?
anyway looks like lighting could be improved. what's your flash configuration?

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Bene, it'll be good if you could caption the pics with the names.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Not yet. I'm working hard on him, but to no avail. These should be shot on the G3.----------------

I agree that lighting technique can be further improved, especially on the last picture. However, the fishes are well portrayed and the colors seems corrected/compensated. Composition can be improved with care on the subject not being blocked visually. Example being the 4th picture. If the aquasoil is not partially blocking the head or tail of the parotocinclus maculicauda, it would be great. Then again, it's aquatic photography... your models are exactly co-operative.
Overall, I would say these pictures are above average. All subjects are clearly in focus. Captions with ID of fishes would be great for others who are not so familiar with you subjects.
Keep shooting and show us more pictures!!
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
we should go to ClubSnap and organise a fish-shoot for those portrait and model shooters kekekeke, can collect a lot of damaged DSLR and sell second hand when they smash their cams on the ground in frustration with the non-cooperative "models"----------------

If that's the case, bring them for a wild life nature shoot. They'll give up much faster.
Then someone dress up as a monkey and grab their cameras.... no damage.
