Hello guys, currently my tank been hit by an outbreak of spiral-shape snails.
Do they attack plants or just feed on the algae.
If they hurt the plants, anyway i would exterminate em without hurting my malayan shrimps?
    Thanks

Spiral shaped? Should be Ramshorn snails. If cone-shaped, then it is Malayan Trumpet Snails.

Snails feed on algae, dead or dying leaves and leftover food. If it bothers you, then get puffer fish to eat them. Normally I leave them alone. Other fish known to have an appetite for them are ghost shrimps, Rams, Loaches.

It was weird almost mistaken em for baby shrimps.
    until i saw em upclose.
Glad to have em to get rid of the algae and dead leaves.
I have both ghost and malayan in my tank...so i hope the ghost would take on the snails rather than the malayan shrimps.
    Thanks for info.
