    Hi guys,

Managed to uploaded some more of the pictures of Sphaericthys vaillanti recently.

This is my favorite of the 3. Especially with the finage extended and the blue rim showing prominantly.
There's a nice metalic blue tinge too.

The foreground is a little bit distracting, but a relatively acceptable profile shot.

Too bad the lighting is not ideal. The top portion is overexposed while the bottom portion is slightly underexposed.
This is because the fish swam to a position where the flash is slightly behind the fish.

    Comments or critique please.

Your first pic is the best thus far. The fish stands out and the entire body is sharp unlike your last two where the tail seems to be a little out of focus. And the fish is very very nice.

First picture is very nice! A little over exposed at the top but
you don't really see that - the fish is really nice looking!
I don't think it's available in the US.

like all your pics benny. how about a sketch to show everyone your flash set up?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Thanks guys for the comments.

Will try to cut the flash output to 'solve' the over exposure on the top section of the fish.

As for the photo tank setup, I will try to take a picture the next time I shoot to illustrate.

    Perfect for magazine cover page.

For full size magazine covers, editors normally look for portrait format as most magazines are in that format. Also, there has to be enough space around the subject to put the mastheads and other assorted text. But composition is usually more challenging for aquatic subjects.

So for those of you considering this, do take the above two points into consideration when you shoot. Editorial requirements are usually different from hobbyists/photographers' requirements.

Out of the 3, the first one is the best.

2 and 3 lack sharpness even at this size.

But i do not like the 'pumped up' look.
I do not have anything against software editing. It is perfectly ok.
Do you have the original one?
