    Hi folks,

Need advice from Xpert. I have been treating ich in my planted tank with salt for the past 10 days but i am still having dead fish everyday. about 3 dead tetra a day .

I add 1 tbsp per 20L and the temp is about 30 degree C.
Change water every 3 days. Is there anything that i have miss out.

I am thinking to use Sera Costapur but afraid it may kill my plants. Any comment on this.

    Thanks.

Is this a newly setup aquarium? Maybe it would help if you list out the water parameters, otherwise kind of difficult to offer any help.

Any other chemicals you have poured into the tank?

I have set up this tank for 3 months already. the plants are doing ok. below are some details:

Tank size: 4x2x2,Ph 7, 4kH, temp: 30degree C (off the fan to raise the temp). I suspect the ich was intro into the tank by new rummy nose which are the first to show white spot. All 5 are dead after 4 days. The current live stock that are still around are:

4 cherry barb, abt 20 green tetra, 4 otos, 2 sae, 2 rainbow.

Should i still continue to use salt treatment?

    Check out this earlier thread.

    link

I did mention that some of the fishes may die, but majority should recover. As for why they die, it's not due to ich, but probably killed by secondary infections while they are in the weakened state.

    Just carry on your treatment.
