I've noticed that the shell on my apple snail is thinning out . Is there a way to prevent this condition?

Is it due to lack of calcium in the water???

Check your KH and PH level......you need to increase your KH which I think its pretty low.

I bought 2 of these snails last weekend. Once I dropped them into the planted, one of them started nibbling on my BJ's root and leaves. Is it normal ? I thought this snail eat algae only. How do you keep them ?

Thank BClee for the site, it is very useful. Thanks guys for the response. My KH is 4 and PH is 6.9. I hv neon tetras mostly, cories, rummy nose so i keep the ph slightly acidic. let me try to increase the KH and see how. Thanks guys.
