When I had green water, black out worked for a while but the green water came back after a few days. The blackout also caused some plants to die.

I then changed 50% water every day for a week and the green water went away ... permanently.

Basically, I got the green water problem when I started with my 4 footer. I borrowed a UVC from "someone", run 24hrs a day and had the water clear in 4 days. I run the UVC for another 2 weeks, together with my lights timer and I removed it after which. No ferts dosage changes or water changes involved, they just never came back again...
    Cheers and Regards,
