I intend to convert all my FL to about 10 PL for my 5'. Should I use only 10,000K and 03. Or it is better to have some 10,000K, some 6,500 and some 03?

Not sure about technical aspects: wavelength and all, but dont use all 10k...

For aesthetic purposes, the 03 actually helps to offset the yellowish tint that most marine aquariums' water has...

And all wavelengths of 6500 are supposedly covered by 10000k?

I remember reading an article about this... damn... which issue of FAMA was it... =P

its perfectly all rite to use 6500k but for a marine tank. the corals will look better under 10k. most ppl find 6500k too yellow n go for 10k. n its olso okay to go wif all 10k or mix them. 03 is used to create dawn n dust effect n to make the corals fluorescent

if u r goin to keep polyps etc....go wif pl instead. better in the long run

u need to know what is the spectum of light u want.. and what u gonna keep or is already keeping.. do remember this.. 10,000K is gonna raise your tank by a few degrees..

HUH??? kel.... y would a 10k fl raise ur temp??? as long as u r using light...whether its 4300k,6500k,10000k or 20000k temp will increase. n depends on how many u use. 2 fl will cause a 1 degree jump....

leann 10k is not the watts. its the temperature of the bulbs.like most planted guys n gals use 6500k or 7100k. for marine most of them prefer 10000k..means tt its bluer. the higher the k(temp) goes, the bluer the bulb.

Spiff.. it is more like the kelvins of the lights than temperature.. kelvins of the light will determine the spectrum of the light.. the higher the number.. the bluer the lights...

ok.. i normally refer the intensity of the light to kelvins.coz the word temperature is a bit misleading.. haha.. can u imagine.. 10,000 temperature.. hahahaha.. very hot...
