yep its sea anemone. its quite common on our shores. they have stings on their tentacles so its best to control their spreading as too much of them will affect the fishes in your tank.. cheers~

    Re: Help ID

Some anemones are pests in reef tanks like Aiptasia. I have no idea what species of anemone is that in the picture from Walter, but if they are Aiptasia then he has to use some removal agents like Red Sea's Aiptasia X.

    Re: Help ID

    Greetings,

Thanks for insights, though I am not too sure what they are at this moment, they appeared harmless but are spreading too fast. I am thinking of rearranging the live rock anyway, probably will remove them physically.

Those are aiptasia as far as I know and are definitely pest. They will grow and increase in number if you do not eradicate them.

a thin metal scrapper will do the trick remove from their base.. they will look a bit like those bubble tea pearls once you scrap them off the rocks....

    Re: Help ID

Wasn't able to removed them successfully. I ended up buying Aiptasia X from Aquamarin and dosed them. Manage to get most except missing a few and some at difficult to reach areas. Just to update...
