If I'm not wrong its the parrot fish, commonly seen in coral reefs.
the flesh is very tender
(oops doesnt sound very right in a fish related forum)
Hi, folks,
I was in my good friend, Melvyn Seah's house the other night taking pictures of how he makes his own fish food. Melvyn keeps and breeds many Show Guppies and he feeds them with his own special food which he makes himself. It's a real labour of love and I thought his fish food recipe would make a good web page.
But I'm stuck with a problem. The main ingredient in Melvyn's fish food is a salt-water fish sold in wet markets. I know the Chinese name but I have no idea what's the fish called in English. A direct translation from the Hokkien name would be something like "Sweet Potato Fish". The flesh of this fish is commonly used to make fish balls. If you know its English name, please tell me. Here's a picture.

Don't know the know but definitely not parrot.
it's called a yellow-tail fusilier (Caseio cuning)... yes it's a species used in fishballs...... i think there are many small fusiliers that are popular as reef tank fishes.
