Amount of substrate need for 422 planted tank?

Hi, need to seek some advise on how many kg of substrate or how many bag of Ada (bigger bag) is needed for a 422 planted tank. Assuming I need a gentle slope at the back of the tank.

4 bags of ada 9litres bag will be enough for soil depth of 5cm. Add a bag more to create the gentle slope.

Thank for your advise bro. Just confirmed a 4 footer from a bro in forum.

It will be a tetious job as I am upgrading from a 2ft to a 4 ft, need to tranfer plants, woods, fishes and media etc. I am not good at journal but will see what I can do about it.

Busy weeks ahead but certainly excited about it.

if i were you, i will try to spent more on the new setup as in all the plants, wood, fish and media - all new.

just make sure you quarantine all the plants before planting in your 4 feet. any snail added in a 4 footer would be hell. they multiply very fast.

Yup, can't save on the new setup. I will only transfer those moss and plant that I tied on the drift wood and rocks over, those I have been growing for for years.

I know about snail war, I have been battling them in my last scape with my trusted pincer but never gain the upper hand. If they will to appear this time round, I will invite Mr puffer for help. Haha...

Will also consider adding in another Canister, meaning 2 X Canister for for this tank. Over filteration is better than lesser I think, also more chance of reducing dead spot that way. Will collect tank this sunday. Will post some photo as the project progress.

Bro, I am using 3 big bags of Gex on my current 2 footer. Is it advisable to transfer the soil of my current tank to my new tank and then top up 2 to 3 bags of new substrate? My current substrate is coming to 2 years old.
