    hi,
i'm new to this, forums and aquariums, really appreciate if anyone can help. i recently set up a planted tank with ada amazonia soil. currently, the tank is planted and has 2 guppies which were given buy nice uncles at teo aquatic. it is a 2 ft tank, with an eheim 2232 filter and pressurised co2.

today, i saw the guppies swimming at the top of the water level, for a few hours. assuming they are lacking oxygen, i started to turn off the co2 and areate the tank, now they guppies are ok. however after testing the ph(4.5) and kh(1) they are incredibly low!

i am at a lost of how to rectify this situation. will anyone be kind to teach me what i should do?

    many thanks in advance

You should wait until your filter cycled before you introduce fish. It is normal for the water ph to be low during initial stage

Ph is only part of the problem. You need to worry about ammonia from soil. So the best is to wait until the filter cycled. The ph should be increase to around 6 by that time.
