    Hi.
    I am having green water.
    What can I do?
I am using the ADA Nature thingy.
Right now only using the Brighty K and Green Brighty Step 1.
Lighting is 2.8 watt/gallon. Lights on 10 hours a day.
I changed 80% of the water and have stopped the Green Brighty Step 1.
So what else should I do?
    Thanks!

There are already alot of discussions for this topic. You may want to do a search.

Some folks advocate black-out. I believe it works though I have not tried it because I simply do not want to be denied the pleasures of watching my tank when I get home.

Others may ask you to expend money for a diatom filter or UV. Something I do not wish to pay for.

I had mild GW before and I fixed it by adopting strategies that lower NH3/NH4. They are water change, better plant growth through good CO2 and fertilisers, aerial advantage with floating plants, better bio-load and better filtration.

Although my method do not deliver results in 3 or 4 days later as claimed by folks using black-out but longer, however, it appears to me that this strategy is better for the long term health of your tank.

Here's one recent discussion. http://www.aquaticquotient.com/phpbb...ic.php?t=13722. In there are also links to external sites with info.

PS: The search engine currently can search by "Subject" but not the "messsage body".

Actually for my 2 feet "green water" tank, I had done was a 100% water change. The tank ended cloudy for a few days. But now the tank is clean and clear again.
